The management team support the clinical and administrative managers and run the HR, Finance and regulatory compliance for the surgery

Gerard joined the practice in 2012 and has 10 years' experience working in Business Development in Higher Education as well as 16 years’ experience working on the region’s NHS Medical Research Ethics Committee for the Health Research Authority.

Gerard is keen to work with patients and all the surgery teams on ways of helping us help each other improve the services that the surgery provides.

Gerard, Maria and Denise are supported by three senior administrators Caroline Elsof, Tracey Taylor and Sara Bailey who support the business and finances for the surgery.

GP Practices are becoming increasingly complex and cannot function without a dedicated team to help ensure that we are able to process all the many demands that we face each day.

The Administration Team supports a range of functions including; helping with patient queries, secretarial work, referrals management, notes summarising, registration processing, notes processing, non-NHS administration and organisation, liaison with hospitals and other service providers.  In addition, the team supports the GPs by actively triaging clinical correspondence with the aim of ensuring that the GPs and clinical team are much better able to prioritise their work and focus upon seeing patients rather than wading through paperwork.

Sue has over ten years’ experience of working at Ball Tree and manages the Administration Team, having started back in 2002 working two late evenings a week in Reception. She lives locally, enjoys walking and the outdoors and is a keen player in the Sir Robert Woodard Academy’s Community Steel band.


We have 14 dedicated medical reception staff who are here to help you.

The receptionists answer the phone, respond to your enquiries and arrange repeat prescriptions.
They also support all the processing of all correspondence and documents within the surgery and between your doctor and the hospitals.

Their job is extremely demanding so please do answer all their questions and help us to help you.
