Travel Services and Vaccinations

global air travel

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.  Please note - everyone's travel needs need to be assessed individually depending upon their previous medical and vaccination history.  You are likely to need two nurse appointments.

Plan Vaccinations in Advance

It is very important to plan your vaccinations well in advance of your travel.

Why?

  • Vaccinations need time in your system before they have any beneficial effect.
  • We may need to order the vaccine in especially for you and it can take time for supplies to reach us.
  • We need to have a planning appointment with a nurse - who will work with you to meet your needs for your trip
  • Then you will need an appointment to receive the vaccination injections

Timeline

At LEAST 6 weeks prior to travel for the first appointment (some vaccines require months)

At LEAST 2 weeks prior to travel for the second vaccination injection appointment

Please use our vaccination timeline guide [PDF] and make sure that you book your vaccinations in time for them to be useful!

Costs

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge.

This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

Please see our vaccination price guide [PDF] for more information.

We can take card payments for vaccination charges
